One ordinary day

Follow a Tuesday through the hotel.

One login means a note on the front desk can become a repair, a schedule change or a line in the manager meeting, without anyone retyping it.

6:00 am

The handoff is already written.

The night auditor logged what happened. The morning supervisor reads it, taps once to confirm, and the log shows who has read what.

Maintenance sees the repair, with the room and the history.

No hallway message. The work order has a priority, an owner and a due time, and it closes where it was opened.

A shift swap that does not need a group text.

The request goes to the right manager, the schedule shows an overtime warning before it is approved, and the new shift appears for everyone.

An inspection finding turns into a task.

The housekeeper scores the room. A failed item becomes a work order or a re-clean, and the score rolls into the weekly report.

Night audit works from a checklist, not memory.

Each step is ticked and signed. Whatever is left undone shows to the morning manager.

New: Manager Meetings

Hold the weekly meeting once, then keep everyone to it.

Each meeting starts with your standing topics: guest reviews, department issues, hiring, what needs to improve. Anyone can add a topic, including a repair, an order or an equipment problem.

Every action item has a person and a date. Open items carry forward, late ones show in red, and a simple scoreboard shows who is keeping up.

Questions hotels ask

Does it replace my PMS?

No. Otel Backhouse runs beside your property management system and covers everything the PMS does not: scheduling, time clock, log book, work orders, inspections, checklists, manager meetings and training.

What does it really cost?

One flat price per hotel per month, with all your staff included. The plans and prices are in the pricing section above, for hotels up to 150 rooms (larger hotels get a quote). There is a one-time setup fee and no long contract: month to month with 30 days’ notice to cancel. Paying yearly gives you two months free.

Can I see it before I decide?

Yes. Book a 20-minute guided demo and we will walk through it on screen with a sample hotel, including the Premium features.

Do all my employees need a phone?

No. Staff can use the front-desk PC or a shared tablet. Some hotels have a head housekeeper or supervisor enter work on behalf of the team, and that works too.

Can I move my staff and checklists over?

Yes. We help you bring in your staff list, departments, positions and checklists when we set up your property. For larger imports we offer a one-time white-glove setup.

Can one company run several hotels?

Yes. Managers can have access to more than one property, each hotel stays separate, and every hotel after the first is 20% off.

What if I stop paying or cancel?

Give us 30 days’ notice. If you paid for a year in advance, you get back what is left after the months you used, at the monthly price. If a payment is missed, there is a grace period before the property is locked, and your data is not shared or sold.

I run a restaurant, not a hotel. Can I use it?

Yes. A standalone restaurant can use just the time clock, scheduling, shift changes and timecards. Ask us about a plan that fits.

About us

Built inside a real hotel.

Otel Backhouse started as a tool for one hotel’s back office. It is now available to other hotels.

Our founder is a working hotel General Manager. With a small leadership team and no on-site revenue manager or chief engineer, everything had to run through a handful of people, and the tools hotels use were scattered across paper, texts and spreadsheets.

So he built one place for the daily work: the log book, scheduling, work orders, inspections, checklists and training. Staff used it every day, and it kept getting better because the people using it were the people asking for changes.

Our story

Where it started

One hotel, one problem: too many things spread across too many places.

What we learned

Hotel teams do not want more software. They want fewer places to look.

Where it is now

A single login for the daily running of a hotel, open to other properties.
